I became disabled after working as a truck driver for over 20 years. I injured my back. This led to me becoming very depressed. My wife and I ended up separating from each other and I lost my home due to financial issues. My kids and wife don't talk to me. I got Falco from a nephew's girlfriend when he was a puppy. He and I immediately bonded. At 6 months old, he got out and ran out into the busy street and got hit by a car. He severed his back and became paralyzed in his 2 hind legs. It has been a roller coaster ride since then. He was just getting ready to start physical therapy because his wounds had healed and he was doing well when he snapped his ankle and now needs to have one leg amputated. Falco is the one thing that has stayed positive in my life and he has kept me going. I can't picture my life without him, especially when he's still so young.
