About this campaign

This sweet girl found herself at the shelter, "presumably" surrendered by her owner. Presumably because the person just dropped her off in the lobby without a word. When confronted to complete the intake paperwork, the person refused and walked out without even leaving her name. She had no collar, no toys, and not even a name.

Even though the shelter was completely full and at max capacity, they took her into their care. They also gave her the proper name of Faline. Due to being so full, they did not have a run for her but they did have a crate for her. Once she was all settled into her space, the shelter staff left for the evening.

The next morning was a nightmare for all of the shelter staff and for sweet Faline. They found her very ill as there was blood in her cage and she was very lethargic. They quickly ran tests and it was determined that she was positive for parvo. They did not have a medical fund and could not provide further care so they reached out to One by One Animal Advocates (OBOAA) for further assistance.

OBOAA took her into their care with open arms. She has since been hospitalized at Proctorville Animal Clinic for the past week and had to spend the weekend in the emergency room. Toward the end of the week, the vet reached out to the rescue stating they were concerned about her signs and symptoms. The diagnosis by the vet confirmed it was distemper, parvo, coronavirus, and mycoplasma.

All of this could have been avoided by just simple routine vaccines. Now, Faline fights every day to live. "We are determined to help her get better so she knows what it feels like to be loved", says Heather with the rescue. Please consider helping Faline and OBOAA today.
