About this campaign
Fatty has spent most of his life as an outside cat that my brother took care of until my brother and I swapped houses so he had more room for his kids. Because of some previous wildlife related injuries Fatty has become my wonderful inside cat, content with watching out of the windows instead of running the streets like he was.
Fatty is super relaxed, and vibes well with everyone who meets him. He played a huge part in mine and my ex's mental health, especially now that it's just me and him. He's very good about never missing meals, and always walks me from the door to his bowl when I get home from work, being very vocal about how happy he is to see me. He often will come find me if I don't sit with him while he eats.
One of Fatty's favorite things to do (besides sleeping) is sitting in a window keeping an eye on the neighborhood he used to be in charge of when he was an outside cat. Even though his left eye was damaged in an animal attack before I brought him inside, he still sometimes seems to look at things with it, often by peaking around corners with his bad eye.
I brought him to Armistead Ave Vet Hospital last Saturday morning because he was struggling to move and mewed like he was in a lot of pain when I woke up. He had a blocked bladder, as well as anemia. The initial estimate was for a little under $2k, including sedation, a catheter, and a few other things. Since they removed his first catheter he has backed up twice more, and will likely need surgery
I'm currently fighting my way out of debt, and was fired from my 2nd job this week. (bc I decided not to put my 2 weeks in when I planned to, bc I needed money for this bill) Fatty is truly one of the only things I have going for me now, and I can't lose him after all this
