About this campaign
Felix came into my life 8 years ago, my mom had found him listed on craigslist when he was 6 months old, but the family couldn’t keep him. He was originally intended to be my mom’s cat, but he decided that i was his person and that was that! Felix and I just moved last month into our own home. He’s been my licensed ESA animal for the past 3 or so years- although he’s been helping me since day one.
Due to how close Felix and I are, i noticed symptoms as they escalated, and on August 8th took him to the Emergency Vet. I caught it in the early stages, but Felix’s bladder was obstructed. He has FLUTD, or Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease, which is a chronic condition. Poor boy tried to chew his boy parts off due to the pain. He is being cared for at South Asheville Veterinary Emergency.
Felix is my everything. He may not know he’s a licensed ESA, but he takes his job very seriously. I have Complex PTSD, and other mental and physical disabilities. Felix literally wakes me up daily and gives me a reason to live. I take better care of myself in order to provide for him. I leash trained him at a young age, so when given the chance, this indoor cat loves to adventure and hunt moths.
I am in the long process of getting disability, and so blessed to have just gotten housing through the state. I am on a very fixed income, and the estimate for Felix’s treatment cost is at $4000. I cannot put into words what this cat means to me. He’s my entire life.
