About this campaign
These cats are part of a feral colony in Queens in the Richmond Hill Section. They are cared for by a community member that feeds them, provides shelter (car tires, boxes with straw bedding), and a winter water bubbler to prevent the water from freezing
These cats are feral so they are always at a distance. They stay in the colony neighborhood because resources are provided. We can however, see relationships (good and bad) between them
All cats are special. :). The feral ones require a lot of empathy because they are wild animal and do not want our assistance. They are terrified of humans, so trapping them for sterilization surgery is stressfull but we make it a kind and humane as possible
These cats, left on the street, sexually intact, breed and multiply. The chances of a kitten making it through the winter is only about 20%, so by sterilizing them before that happens, truly saves lives!
The supply of feral cats in the 5 boroughs of NYC are seemingly endless. Every dollar helps to get to them all. The assistances goes to paying spay/neuter veterinarians, support staff and supplies
