Fester is a 8 month old Pug in Houston, TX, who needs $2,000 for Hospitalization, Femur Surgery, and Eye Surgery.

Fester was hit by a car and sustained a femur fracture in his right back leg and couldn’t walk so he was just laying in the ditch on the side of the road. He also has chronic dry eyes with ulcers and cannot see very well. It hurts to think about him laying there waiting for help and to think about what could’ve happened had someone not noticed him.

He was immediately taken to the ER where it was determined he needed a blood transfusion for anemia. He's already had surgery for his femur fracture and doing well but has weeks of recovery ahead. The next step was the ophthalmology specialist for his eyes. They did some testing on his eyes and found his “good” eye (the right one) had zero tear production, so this eye is severely dry.

The bad eye, his left eye, had ruptured and his iris prolapsed. Fester did surprisingly have functional vision in that eye and we wanted to try to salvage it. However, during surgery it was determined his cornea was so severely damaged the graft prognosis was low so the eye was removed.

Fester is only estimated to be about 9 months old. He has his whole life ahead of him and we’re happy he’s getting a second chance at life. Please consider donating and helping him during his healing journey!

Update 9/27/24:
Fester has healed incredibly well and had a check up with his surgeons today. They say he’s doing really well, but he’s got to remain on kennel rest for another month while he continues to heal. He’ll go back on 10/25 for more x-rays and then will hopefully be all cleared then. Thank you for your support as he continues his healing journey!
