About this campaign
I adopted Fin when he was 7 and a half weeks old. Fin and I share a home with another 8 month old English Spring Spaniel named Munch and a 9 month old cat named Chick.
Fin used to be a very active and playful dog but since he injured his left hind leg; he doesn't like to do very much anymore. Even a 20 minute walk will cause his leg pain and he begins to limp. He used to like to go swimming in a nearby lake, play fetch and do agility.
Fin is also a service dog for me. I am a 100% service connected disabled veteran of the Persian Gulf. He provides me with compassion and company; especially when I am not feeling my best. When he looks at me; I almost think he will begin talking to me. He seems to be part human.
Fin suffers from a ruptured cranial cruciate ligament in his left hind leg. He was diagnosed by my regular veterinarian, Dr. John Cheslak, DVM several weeks ago. His surgery is schedule for February 29, 2024 with Dr. Mike Riggle, DVM at North Country Veterinary Clinic.
Since I am 100% disabled and on a very fixed income; I simply cannot afford this expensive surgery which will cost anywhere from $3,400.00 to $5,000.00.
