About this campaign

Finn came into our lives in 2020. We adopted him from a woman who had previously rescued him but could no longer care for him.
My mother (Nonnie) found him, fell in love and the rest is history. Finn jumped right in to our car when we picked him up. We brought him home to Nonnie. Our initial concerns over his weight and her fragility were immediately dispelled. He was so gentle with her.

Nonnie, a dog lover like no other, moved to Virginia from Florida in 2009. She was a welcome addition to our family of 3. I could use a lot more characters than 400 to describe this incredible woman. To be concise, she dearly missed having a dog and found Finn online. I previously had a Great Dane (Baloo) and agreed that they are very special creatures. He immediately

Finn always needed to be touching Nonnie. When she unexpectedly died, he would not be comforted unless he was on top of one of us. He was so very sad and comforted the rest of us as we were, and still are, grieving. He's so goofy and happy. A true 150 pound lap dog!

Finn starting limping in Nov. Through x-rays they found that he has two torn ACLs. One in each knee. He is being treated by Dr. Scott at Mechanicsville Animal Hospital (VA). He had one repaired. We have a line of credit for one. Our typical vet does not perform this surgery. Therefore after researching, we settled on this hospital which was recommended by the original woman who rescued Finn.

We never considered not keeping Finn when my mom died. We can afford typical costs and emergencies (w/ careful budgeting). But, 2 knees, +I am going through hip surgery as well. I am a teacher and need to take off work. All of this at once is too much. We adore him
