About this campaign
Poor Finn has always been an underdog, and needs your help!
Finn started life abandoned in the woods with his siblings. Someone found the litter and brought them to an animal shelter. That's where Alexandria W. first met Finn and adopted him.
"He was cold, wet, and scared. I went to the shelter and looked at the puppies and fell in love with this fella. I named him Finn, and he has been my constant companion ever since," Alexandria tells Waggle.
Recently Alexandria brought Finn to the veterinarian for a checkup, and she got some devastating news. "Finn was found to be anemic. He went to the University of Georgia Veterinary Hospital and has had many tests. He has non-regenerative anemia and may need more blood transfusions. He has had one transfusion already and is currently stable. I am awaiting results from a bone marrow aspiration to determine what is causing the problem," she says.
Alexandria is equally devastated and worried as she struggles to pay for Finn's care. "I am a full-time student currently attending the University of Georgia. I have no income and have exhausted my mother's ability to help me. My friends and family are contributing; however, Finn's continuing care will be costly but necessary for him to continue to improve," she adds.
Finn means so much to Alexandria, and she would be heartbroken without him. "Finn is always ready to greet me at the door with a wagging tail and his special little smile," she says. "Finn helps me by showing unconditional love and trust in me. He is the first dog that I have owned and been responsible for. He loves to throw his toys in the air and play tug of war. Finn makes me laugh and decompress after a stressful day of classes or exams."
Please help Finn get the medical care he needs!
