About this campaign

Fitz came into our lives 9 years ago through adoption. We were looking to adopt one cat but left with two, Luna and fitz. They are brother and sister and couldn’t be separated. Out of both cats, Fitz is the most affectionate. He enjoys cuddles, pets, and snacks. Through the years we now have 5 cats and a dog. With him now being diabetic, this has made an impact financially for us.

Fitz was ill on March 20th and throwing up blood. We immediately took him to VCA Animal Hospital late that night in fear he wouldn’t survive. He was taken back at about midnight and had a urine test. The tests showed he reached ketoacidosis, which is fatal. We were given the option to euthanize him or pay thousands towards his care. We chose to do what we can, and he is now diagnosed with diabetes

When having many animals in our home, Fitz is the star of the show. His love towards every person that visits is unconditional. He seriously doesn’t know when to stop. He will sit on your lap and use his paws to touch your face, just to get the attention he desires. This is the cat that would make the biggest emotional impact if I couldn’t see him anymore.

This was an unexpected, sudden financial expense. That required us to use multiple credit cards and whatever we had saved. We know it might have not been the smartest decision but our love for Fitz was unconditional and hopeful towards what’s to come.
