From Starving to Safe—Help Flaca Finish Her Journey to Healing

When Flaca was found, she was fighting simply to survive. This gentle eight-year-old stray had been wandering the streets in heartbreaking condition. She was so severely malnourished that she was little more than skin and bones. It was clear she had been without proper food, care, and love for far too long.

Thankfully, D&A Animal Rescue stepped in and gave Flaca the second chance she desperately needed. With nourishing meals, a safe place to rest, and lots of love, Flaca has slowly regained the weight she lost and begun to trust the people caring for her. Watching her transform has been nothing short of incredible. But her journey isn't over yet.

Flaca is now battling painful wounds and a serious infection on the outside of both of her ears. Her rescue team rushed her to the veterinarian, where she underwent diagnostic testing and began treatment. While her veterinary team is optimistic that she can make a full recovery, she still needs ongoing medical care, medications, and follow-up visits to fully heal. After everything Flaca has endured, she deserves the chance to live the rest of her life free from pain.

Sweet Flaca has already come so far from the day she was found wandering the streets, severely malnourished and desperately in need of help.

Thanks to D&A Animal Rescue, Flaca finally has what she had been missing for so long: regular meals, a safe place to rest, compassionate people looking after her, and the chance to simply be a dog again. Little by little, she has been able to regain the weight she lost and begin rebuilding her strength.

But Flaca’s recovery is still a work in progress. She came into rescue with painful wounds and a serious infection affecting the outside of both of her ears, and she needs continued veterinary care to make sure she can fully heal. After spending so much of her life just trying to survive, Flaca deserves the opportunity to experience something completely different—a life where she is safe, comfortable, well-fed, and surrounded by people who care about her.

This resilient girl has come so far since the day she was found wandering the streets, severely malnourished and struggling just to survive. Thanks to D&A Animal Rescue, Flaca has been able to receive the food, safety, medical care, and love she needed—and she is truly thriving.

Seeing the transformation from the frightened, fragile dog who first entered rescue to the happy girl she is becoming is incredibly heartwarming.

Her medical issues required time and treatment, but Flaca is proving just how strong she is. Every day, she gets closer to leaving her difficult past behind and enjoying the life she always deserved.
