About this campaign
When flash floods swept through Mae Tang, Thailand, families were forced to flee their homes, leaving everything behind. Many returned to find their homes buried in mud and waterlogged, with their belongings destroyed and no access to food, clean water, or electricity. Amidst the chaos, the urgency to rebuild and clean before the mud hardens has become a daunting reality. And their pets, who mean the world to them, are left with nothing.
For these families, access to essential pet care quickly became a daily struggle as they fought to survive and recover. That’s where Hand to Paw steps in. Every day, this dedicated team goes out into the hardest-hit areas, bringing essential supplies—both for families and their beloved pets. Rescuers are providing food and vital resources while also helping to repair homes and fences, working tirelessly to restore safety and dignity to those impacted.
Beyond immediate relief, Hand to Paw sprang into action, rescuing strays left in the direct path of the approaching floods. For a heartbreaking number of animals, Hand to Paw’s been a ‘Hail Mary.’–A last chance at survival.
In the midst of devastation, Hand to Paw remains committed to keeping families and their pets together. But despite throwing everything they can at this situation, rescuers cannot continue their efforts without the help of outside support.
Please consider helping today to support this urgent rescue and provide much-needed care and supplies to the countless animals affected by the catastrophic Thailand floods. A donation today will help provide critical supplies and support to those in need, giving them a lifeline as they begin to rebuild their lives.
Update 10/14/24:
We loaded up 2 trucks and 3 cars full of supplies such as pet and human food, water, pet medications, pads, and more! We spent the afternoon distributing to families who suffered terrible flash flooding in Mae Tang (Thailand) and lost so much when the water filled their homes. The devastation is tragic but the love and support is nothing short of extraordinary.
Update 10/15/24:
We walked through a home today where the muddy water had left stains on the walls. Absolutely everything was wrecked- the current during the floods had been so strong that even the motorbike was swept away and the house walls had been destroyed. The mud covered absolutely everything. The villagers said the water rose incredibly fast and was unlike anything they’d ever seen. People evacuated quickly to escape the rising flood, only to come back to their homes and find that most everything was submerged and ruined. Mattresses, appliances, clothes, furniture, books, food, pet supplies, and precious things were all washed away.
Update 10/22/24:
We were able to purchase additional supplies and make a delivery of loads of medications, pet food and human food, flashlights, high power water jets for cleaning, clothes, and lots and lots of supplies to help rebuild what was so violently taken away by the floods. We are able to make sure people and their pets have at least the bare minimum - a bed and food - during this tragic time.
