Flossie is a 12 year old Labrador Retriever in Columbus, OH, who needs $2,000 for Extensive Dental Surgery, Mass Removal, and Meds.

Flossie came to STS after being left at a rural shelter when her elderly owner was hospitalized with a poor prognosis. She is best guess a 12 year old yellow lab and although loved, hasn’t had the best care. This sweet senior hadn’t seen a vet or been bathed for 7 years. She has many physical needs about which we are still learning.

Flossie is a sweet dog, with everything imaginable medically:
She has cataracts, horrible dental disease, multiple subQ and dermal masses, red, inflamed infected skin on the back half of her body, ear infection, and probably the worst joint disease that we have ever seen. She was covered in fleas. She is being treated at the Animal Care Center of Polaris in Lewis Center, Ohio.

Flossie' elbows were so thickened: could barely bend them and her shoulders have very limited range of motion. Same with hips and knees. There is muscle atrophy as well. Flossie started on Librela injections, carprofen and amantadine, & joint support. She is also on 2 antibiotics for skin infection & kennel cough. But she LOVES her foster home and 2 canine siblings & will cuddle with them.

We are a non-profit animal rescue organization. We intake numerous senior & medical cases from rural Ohio, KY and WV shelters. We also intake from puppy mills. Many of our population have serious veterinary needs like Flossie. With lots of care, Flossie will thrive.
