Floyd is a 3-year-old Mixed in Guttenberg, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Heartworm Treatment.

We rescued Floyd and his two brothers from a home in Texas and moved him to New Jersey. He is the runt of the litter. His two brothers weigh about 100 pounds, but Floyd is only 33 pounds. He currently lives me and my 17-year old daughter in NJ and is loving life. He gets lots of food, love and attention. He loves playing with smaller dogs and has a bed full of toys.

Floyd lives with us in a small apartment and is constantly showered with love. He is constantly looking to be by either one of our sides and is always ready for a walk. Generally, he will sneak into my bed and sleep next to me.

Floyd is special because he is so dang cute. He has the face of a pit bull, but tiny Dachshund-like tiny legs. He is extremely loving and is constantly hungry. When he was a puppy, he would gnaw on everything from cords, hats, shoes and everything in between. Luckily, he doesn't do that anymore, but is always looking to play.

After we took Floyd in, it was discovered that Floyd's brother had heartworms so we decided to take him to the vet. It was discovered that Floyd had contracted heartworms through his mother during pregnancy and since he is already three years old, he has been living with it for a while. So, the situation is quite dire.

About a month ago I was laid off from my job due to the banking situation. I am currently receiving unemployment benefits and can barely pay my bills. Floyd's treatments has added a financial burden that I was not prepared for.
