About this campaign
Frankie’s story began with her mother, Vera, rescued from a rural fracking site in West Virginia. We weren’t even sure she was pregnant — the vet could only speculate — so we waited and watched. On the exact day we were told she’d either deliver or resume vaccines, Vera gave birth to one single kitten. It truly felt meant to be, like Vera gave her to us purposefully
Frankie suffered a sudden medical crisis with severe seizures and temporary cortical blindness caused by dangerously high ammonia levels. She was diagnosed with a congenital liver shunt, an abnormal blood vessel preventing her liver from functioning properly. She requires advanced surgery at MedVet South Hills to correct it and give her a chance at a normal life.
Frankie is incredibly affectionate and fearless — even best friends with our dog. She greets everyone like they’re family, and everyone who meets her falls in love. She’s our wild child, full of personality and joy. She didn’t just join our family — she completed it.
I am our family’s sole income, and Frankie’s emergency care, diagnostic testing, and consultations have already cost over $6,000. Surgery is next, and any help would make a life-saving difference for her.
