Freya is new to our little family. She came to us less than two weeks ago at less than 2 lbs, but has already wormed her way into everyone's heart. We welcomed her after the unexpected loss of our first chihuahua, Holly, so we're still getting to know each other and her little personality is just coming out. She's still a baby at only 9 weeks, but she loves cuddling up in a pocket and meeting new people.

She has recently started to play more and more, and when she got down on the floor to play with the other dogs, we think she was stepped on. She immediately went limp and we noticed she didn't get up. We rushed her to the emergency vet where we got few answers and were told her health was touch and go. The vet said she has neurological damage and possibly a spinal injury, but we won't know more until they have had a few hours to assess her. If she is doing better but still needs acute care, she will need to be moved to another facility that can give her care around the clock.
