About this campaign
Friday is a female Chocolate Lab. I was able to rescue her through a group called All Retriever Rescue of Florida. She was 7 months old when I got her. I was a single man and having a dog was a great thing. I served in the Army for 9 years with 3 year long tours (2- Iraq, 1- Afghanistan). I was a Flight Medic and would race to the scene of injury and find the horror of war up close and personal.
Friday lives in my home with my wife and I. She loves her tennis ball and playing fetch. Throughout her 13 years with us she has acted as a mother and comforts us when we need it. I suffer from PTSD and have anxiety and she instinctively comforts me in my time of need. She loves a good nap and sleeps in the bed under the sheets.
I am a disabled VET. I had work but when the pandemic hit my company lost the volume of work it needed to keep me employed. My wife has Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy and collects a Social Security deposit each month.
Friday has developed a chronic cough/gag situation. The VET is unsure what it may be but they want to put a camera scope down to see if they can visualize anything. Also Friday needs a set of X-Rays to see if anything was ingested. McAbee Veterinary Hospital here in Orlando is trying to work with us.
Friday eats twice a day. She has breakfast whenever we wake up. Dinner however is to be served promptly at 6pm. At dinner time she starts to pace around you and will eventually start talking to you to remind you about her dinner. If she has a tennis ball in the house she will get up on the couch and lay down. Then she will drop the ball to let it roll away so she can go chase it.
