Frodo is a 3-year-old Mixed - Shepherd in Dearborn Heights, MI, who needs $2,000 for Oxygen Therapy, Nebulization, Antibiotics, Steroids.

We adopted Frodo from a family member that could not keep him anymore. We picked him up from Texas and had to make an incredibly long drive to our home state in two days. Throughout that journey and since living at home he has been a loving, energetic, and dapper little gentleman who is curious about the world around him.

Frodo had the insurmountable job of getting along with our older dog - a 7-year-old Husky mix who very much enjoyed having the house to herself. Within an hour Frodo was getting her to play and snuggle by the window! We were shocked that everything was going so well, and both dogs have been inseparable at home at at day care.

Frodo has the uncanny ability to "sing" while he is in the car. At first we thought he was nervous or not happy, but he's been perfectly at ease while we drive and it really seems like something he enjoys doing. We put on some Queen and he sings right along!

Frodo threw up one afternoon and started having issues breathing. After an hour he was not getting better and we rushed him to the pet hospital, where he was diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia. After a very stressful 5 days he was off oxygen but still was not eating. He was discharged to try and eat at home, but he aspirated again. It was found he had GI problems that may be cause him to throwup

If we could make a payment plan with the hospital, we could wait out his treatment. If we could take him home and do extensive after care, we could do it. But the hospital requires almost full payment up front every two days and have no end date in sight for when he'll be ok
