Funny Face is a 12-year-old Shih Tzu in West Jefferson, OH, who needs $500 for dental work.

Funny Face came to me as a foster situation in efforts to help a long time elderly family friend who had found themselves in a rehabilitation center. We have had her for about 3 months. In those 3 months her weigh was really a concern for us. She originally was open fed and can fed at that. She weighed a massive 35lbs. but great news!! Through diet and exercise she is down to 19!!!! This family friend of ours is so important as she was very very kind to my Nanny(grandma) when my mom and her siblings where just little ones. She drove her to the store.. made sure the electric stayed on and that they had what the needed on a day to day bases. When I heard they needed help I raised my hand to take her in. In a way I feel like I got a piece of my Nanny back with having her in the house. ( my nanny passed at 44 of breast cancer) while it was anticipated that this would be a temporary situation. Things have changed and my home will be her forever home. The family friend lives in west virginia and myself on ohio. I try to visit her as much as i can. Her husband has passed and while her memory is starting to fade. The stories she tells of her little Funny Face are so vivid and full of love. On a daily routine we clean Funny Faces eyes as she has a low tear production in one eye and none in the other. In addition to cleaning she receives a tear producing gel in her eyes 2 times a day. As a result of this she has a very hard time seeing. HOWEVER this does not slow her down. She loves walks. Gets sassy if dinner is not right on time. And while playing fetch doesnt really exist she is the best cuddler and is always in the mood for a good rub down and grooming.
