Gabbana is a 10-year-old Maltese terrier in Vallejo, CA, who needs $1,535 for surgical biopsy.

I rescued Gabbana and her sister Dolce as puppies because they were in horrible condition. The owners had them sleeping outside in the winter and they were covered in fleas. I’ve been fortunate enough to raise them both until I feel on hard times. I was laid off last year and haven’t found steady employment since. I do contracting , but was impacted by the pandemic. Now she needs help and I can’t.

Since I lost my home, I moved back with my parents and it has been tough. We are all huddled under one roof with limited incomes, but my parents adore the dogs. So much so that that asked to keep Dolce when I move because they can’t picture having a home without a dog again whenever I move. Both of my girls are so sweet, energetic and loving. I can’t stand thinking about losing one of them.

The loss of steady employment is devastating but I thought that being a Navy veteran would make it easier to replace my previous job. Unfortunately that hasn’t been the case and I loss my apartment, had my car repossessed and was forced to move back home with my parents.

She had a growth on her tummy that grew at an alarming rate. Again, I didn’t have much so I had to wait to put together money to take her to be seen. It turns out that she has a mammory gland tumor that needs to be surgically removed. It’s growing bigger by the minute and I have been turned down by other causes due to limited funding. I took her to All Creatures Veterinary Care in Vallejo.

Gabbana has been with me from the beginning. I’ve had her and Dolce since I moved into my first apartment 10 years ago and they always had a way of making my days better. Gabbana is so incredibly smart that it’s hard to believe sometimes. She is just so calm and chill that it’s as if she is just like her momma. She actually loves movies as much as I do and will sit in front of the TV watching lol.
