About this campaign
Gary is the heart of our home in Palm Desert, where he lives with us and his two cat siblings. He is a 3-year-old Domestic Shorthair with a warrior spirit. As a kitten, he survived a life-threatening eye infection that doctors thought would kill him. My husband spent weeks nursing him back to health, creating an unbreakable bond. Today, he is a healthy, indoor cat who only knows love and safety.
Gary is currently at VEG Palm Desert under the care of Dr. Jeff Li. After crying in his litter box, we discovered he couldn't urinate. He was diagnosed with a critical urinary obstruction. He required immediate sedation, a life-saving unblocking procedure, and an indwelling catheter. He is now hospitalized for monitoring to ensure his bladder functions again and he can survive this crisis.
Gary is the most tender and loving soul. He has a sacred bond with my husband; since he saved Gary’s life as a kitten, they have been inseparable. Every single night, Gary curls up right next to him to sleep, seeking his warmth. He is also the sweet companion to our other two cats. He is the glue of our family, and his absence has left a painful silence in our home while he fights to recover.
As a family living abroad, this $8,430 bill is an overwhelming burden. We used CareCredit to start his emergency care, but we cannot cover the full debt. Having Gary healthy again means everything to us; it means seeing him back in my husband's arms, where he belongs.
