Gatsby is an 11 year old chihuahua and is originally from Puerto Rico. We've been with each other since he was 4 months old. He's energetic and a great cuddler. He was born on April 13, 2013 and was named Rico. When I got him I decided to change his name to Gatsby Rico Cruz. the inspiration for his name came from the film, "The Great Gatsby" as it came out right after he was born that year.

Gatsby is a very healthy dog at 11 years old. Currently his only problem is that he is in need of a teeth cleaning. He's never had one due to not needing one til recently. His current vet is at Fox Memorial Clinic with the Connecticut Humane Society. Their treatment there is very good and cost effective but they do not provide teeth cleaning leading me elsewhere for that service.

Gatsby is nothing short of great. He is loving towards everyone he meets, great with kids and very well trained. Despite stereotypes of chihuahuas, Gatsby' also quiet. At age 11 he still loves to play like a puppy. He's full of life and overall a wonderful companion.

Gatsby hasn't needed dental cleaning til as of recent and him being my first dog I was unaware how costly it is. Chihuahuas are predisposed to dental issues and gum problems already and due to how expensive it is I haven't been able to get him the help he needs.
