About this campaign

One generation after her older sibling Kikay, Gigi, who is a Pomeranian Puddles was only 2 weeks old when we brought her home in May of 2013. Gigi is one of seven puppies to be born that day and the only puppy who has been blind since birth. She would become an instrumental part of our family becoming roommates to my son Jay, and our friend Gerald.

I am truly thankful to have Gigi a part of our family. She has brought so much joy to us. Gigi has been blind since birth. Her silly personality has always made our lives very happy. During difficult times, you can count on Gigi to be by our side, lending us a helping paw and providing emotional support.

Gigi is naturally protective, especially around her food. Food seems to enhance her situational awareness of anything that may come to challenge her for the right to her delicious treat. For a blind dog, it is always entertaining to watch how she interacts in a playful manner when playing with her older siblings.

One day Gigi was not up to her normal self. I believe she was experiencing nausea, grogginess, and some other off-balance behavior due to her menstrual period to the point she became lethargic. , The veterinarian with Economic Animal Shelter by the name of Doctor Yoon performed the Prometra Surgery that was needed to relieve Gigi of her sickness.

Pyometra surgery procedure totaled $3728. In this time of financial hardship, to help cover the medical cost was through carecredit.com offered through Economic Animal Shelter.
