Gemma is a 7 year old Mix-Breed in East Moriches, NY, who needs $844 for CCCNU (Lomustine) and Retinoid (Isotretinoin).

Gemma was rescued from a shelter names friends of freddy. She was only 4 months old when I, without a doubt, adopted her. She was the sweetest puppy and instantly rested her head upon my hand and nuzzled her way into my arms.

Gemma developed a lump on her lip in April that continued to grow in size. After a few visits with our local vet, her appetite decreased significantly and we decided to have the lump removed and biopsied, which unfortunately came back dirty. She was then diagnosed with t cell lymphoma and given a prognosis of 2 months w/o treatment. We then brought her to an oncologist(VMCLI) for chemotherapy.

Gemma is an extremely loving, mindful girl who can always sense when anyone in the family needs a friend, a kiss, or simply some tug of war to get your mind off things. Although not certified, she is the best therapy dog. She loves adventuring and playing with everyone including her pup friends! Her favorite walk is 7 mile trail around a local pond where she gets to see horses and all her friends!

Due to Gemma's aggressive diagnosis, she is on an aggressive treatment plan that consists of chemotherapy, steroids, retinoids, liver supplements and several rounds of antibiotics. This treatment plan is extremely financially taxing especially in todays economy.
