King George, as my son named him, has been with us for 4 years. My son's female dog, Luna, would bring George to our house daily. We tried playing with him, but he would jerk away & urinate on himself. We believe that he was being abused at home. He would leave us but always returned-one day he never left. Sadly, Luna passed away about 6 months later. We say that Luna brought him to us to love him

Last week, on 1/10, while getting ready for work, I heard George barking, 2 gunshots, and then him crying in pain. I ran to the backdoor to look for him. I found him next door hiding. He ran into the house bleeding and collapsed. As I was calling the police, I laid next to him asking him not to leave me. The shot went through his body and hit his lung, which filled with blood. George is such a beautiful boy. He is loved by us. He craves attention and makes sure that we give it to him. He loves belly rubs and hugs. He has a big bark, but he is like a child; He was scared of our two cats at first, but he watches over them. I'm constantly telling him that I love him, and that I am his Grandma. He's always protected us. It's my turn now to protect him and help him heal!

Currently we are experiencing a difficult time financially. Even though there is no money, I just couldn't let him die. I had to take him to the hospital. If I had not been there, he surely would have died all alone. He's scared, has trouble breathing-he's suffering.
