About this campaign
I adopted George from the Honolulu Humane Society about three and a half years ago. Since then we’ve lived in both New York and Pennsylvania, just me and him against the world. He’s my best friend, my little shadow, my family
Over the past couple of months we’ve been to VEG twice and PASE once. They think George has IVDD, likely a herniated disc. VEG didn’t have the right equipment, so PASE would handle the MRI and, if needed, the surgery. The MRI alone is about $4,000, and surgery would bring it to around $8,500. Getting him care quickly is so important to make sure he doesn’t end up with lasting nerve damage.
George is a little burst of joy that fills up every room we walk into. He has more personality than most people I know, and his quirks have a way of making you laugh even on the hardest days. He loves people, he loves other animals, and he has this way of making anyone feel like they matter. He can be anxious, but that just makes him softer and more aware. Life feels better with him by my side.
Lately the pain has dulled the spark that makes George who he is, and it’s heartbreaking to watch. Surgery would give him the chance to heal fully and bring back his vibrant, joyful personality. It’s an unexpected expense, and any help would mean the world to us.
