About this campaign
In February of 2016 my cousin shared photos of GiGi who needed a new home; she had been well loved before and had a lot of puppies; her prior owner said she even nursed another Momma dogs pups when that dog refused! I had only been home from a family trip less than twenty four hours when I made arrangements to met her at a dog park and we've been together ever since. When I first saw her running toward me, I thought "Oh my GAWD this dog is a beast" but then she slowed it down, and we fell in love immediately. When I picked my Granddaughter up from school that day, she couldn't believe I rescued GiGi as we'd just had to put our other dog down two weeks prior due to old age and health problems. My Granddaughter fell in love quickly, climbed in the crate with her, and just fell in love, my sister, mother and niece did too. Slowly, as we got used to her, and her to us, we started allowing others to come meet GiGi, and everyone who has ever met her truly fell in love. I've never met a pittie like GiGi, I call her the face of love because she looks tough, or mean to many people, but she's love, her face is love, her eyes are love, her heart is too! GiGi had some early health problems, her liver enzymes were high, then she ate a bag of Halloween candy, and a week later a box of crayons ... because I thought she didn't need to be crate trained (I was wrong); she managed to survive all of that, and then the allergies started, and people said "you should get rid of her" ... as if she were a toy. When I'm feeling the effects of PTSD, GiGi is there to sooth and calm me; I've never met a dog like her in my life; she alerts me gently when something is doing on in my body; before I even feel it. GiGi is a very special girl.
