About this campaign

My name is Olha, and my dog Gina is my closest and most beloved family member. We moved from Ukraine to the U.S. in September. Gina was born with small eyes and cataracts, but on March 1st, her condition worsened. Her eye turned red, and she couldn’t find comfort. We visited urgent care and eye specialists, but the only solution is eye removal. This has been heartbreaking for both of us.

Finally, on a friend’s recommendation, we visited Angell Veterinary Hospital Boston where an ophthalmologist was able to diagnose the issue. Gina is suspected to have glaucoma in her left eye with a pressure of 66 and inflammation, while her other eye is fine. We’ve started medical treatment, but unfortunately, it hasn’t shown positive results yet.

Gina has lived with poor vision her entire life, but she’s always been a true hero. She loves walking off-leash, feeling the freedom with every step. Gina adores other animals, especially cats, and is incredibly kind. For me, she’s a healer. In every stressful moment, she’s there, filling my life with light and joy. Her love and loyalty make every day special.

As refugees from Ukraine, we don’t have enough funds for the $3,000 eye removal surgery Gina urgently needs to relieve her pain. I’ve already spent over $2,500 on tests and exams, but I can’t afford any more. We’re desperate for help to give her the care she deserves.
