Rachael C. rescues senior animals in dire need. That's how she got Gizmo.

"Gizmo came to us as an owner surrender when he was ten years old due to 'old age.' He is currently 14 years young and still acts like a puppy. He brings in so much love and playfulness. We can not picture our home without him," Rachael tells Waggle.

Gizmo is a Hairless Chinese Crested. This breed needs a bit of extra care, like sunscreen and coats. Gizmo loves to stay warm by sleeping under blankets.

This week a terrible accident happened! Gizmo got tangled in his favorite blanket, jumped off the couch, and dislocated his hip. He was gimping in pain and couldn't walk.

Rachael rushed Gizmo to the animal hospital, and he needs urgent surgery to fix his hip -- but she can't afford it. She is heartbroken and hopes generous animal lovers will now come to their rescue.

"Last week, we had a severe leak in our roof and had to replace it," Rachael says. "After using our savings and taking out a loan, we cannot pay for his surgery after the ER bill. We need Gizmo out of pain and back to being the playful dog we love."
