About this campaign
When animal control officers saw how terrified Goofy looked in the shelter and how much he needed medical care, they thought Taffy's Touch Senior Dog Rescue was likely Goofy's only hope. "He was involved in a pet hoarding case. He had no human contact for a year. He had been kept outside in an igloo-type dog house. He is very afraid of humans," Tabatha M., with the rescue, tells Waggle.
The group said they'd take Goofy. When Tabatha picked him up, she was shocked. "I was not prepared for the condition he was in," she says. Goofy had a mass the size of a football! It broke open and was extremely infected. He had been dragging the mass when he walked for months.
She brought Goofy straight to Noah's Westside Animal Hospital. The medical team ran tests, and from what they can tell the tumor is cancerous but has not spread. Now the rescue is trying to raise the money so Goofy can have his urgent surgery to remove the mass and have it sent to pathology.
"Goofy deserves a chance to live out the rest of his years in a healthy loving environment after what he has been through," Tabatha says. "Just looking in his eyes on the way to the veterinarian, I think he finally knew he was safe. Taffy's Touch runs completely on donations and fundraising. To save these seniors' lives and to take in more dogs it takes people's generosity to do so. Goofy deserves so much more than the life he has lived so far."
