About this campaign
Gracie, a two-year-old pregnant cat, was attacked by a dog and violently shaken, leaving her with a severely broken front leg. She was taken to the ER to be euthanized, but the veterinary team saw something in her worth saving. They paid for her emergency care themselves and reached out for help securing her future.
X-rays revealed three unborn kittens, their tiny skeletons visible beside the fracture. The vet presented three options: end the pregnancy and repair the leg, deliver the kittens early via c-section, or fix the leg using anesthesia safe for pregnancy and allow a natural birth. Gracie had fought to protect them—she was given the chance to keep fighting.
Her orthopedic surgery was more difficult than expected. The joint capsule was damaged, and a pin was placed to stabilize the break. Gracie is now resting in a quiet foster home where she’s gaining strength. She’s eating well, responding to care, and preparing to bring her kittens safely into the world when the time is right.
Gracie’s emergency surgery couldn’t wait. Now that she’s stable, donations are needed to cover her medical expenses and continued recovery. Every gift helps give Gracie and her kittens a real chance at the life she was nearly denied. Please consider supporting her journey today.
Update 06/29
Gracie's singleton kitten and her are bonding beautifully. Sadly two of her kittens did not make it, it was all just too much. But thankfully, the one that did survive is doing wonderfully. Momma and baby are inseparable! It is such a beautiful sight to see now that they are both safe and are now just focused on relaxing and healing. Thank you to all who have supported her so far, and we will keep you updated.
Update 07/16
Gracie continues to recover well and her personality has begun to blossom. Her little one is growing quickly and keeping her on her toes as little ones do. We are so thankful they have each other to help one another. Thank you for your ongoing support!
