Gracie is a 4-month-old Belgian Malinois in North Saint Paul, MN, who needs $2,000 for Gastrointestinal Surgery.

We believe Gracie came into our lives purposfully one evening in early December. As we walked our two other dogs to use the facilities, we saw a vehicle pull over next to the nature preserve, a person quietly exited the vehicle, and return to it within seconds. As the vehicle drove away, a puppy was under the vehicle! We quickly corralled her and took her to safety.

Gracie loves playing with her older sister and brother. She loves to cuddle, be by her humans at all times, whether it's on the couch or chair- acting more like a lap dog! She is loved not only by our family but also by her work family. Before Gracie was sick, she loved going to work to bring joy to those who work in the first responder field. Their stressful days found relief with Gracie.

Gracie's calm demeanor and mild mannerisms are unique for her breed, and a perfect choice as a therapy dog for first responders. Gracie loves every one she meets, embracing each person with gratitude. Her love for others is truly inspirational. At work, people ask for her to come visit because of the joy she brings, with her hugs, kisses and showing off her new tricks or skills she learned.

Gracie is currently being treated at Blue Pearl Specialty and Emergency Pet Hospital in Arden Hills, MN. Internal Medicine has accepted her case. Two weeks ago, she presented with persistent nausea, vomiting, lethargy. She was hospitalized for 4 nights, and went home with an NG tube to allow us to aspirate her stomach and provide medication but she requires further surgery now.

We love that Gracie came into our life and we wouldn't have it any other way. However, her vet bills have well exceeded $10,000 with the follow up surgery estimated to cost several thousands dollars more. Gracie will need a G-tube inserted into her stomach plus more.
