About this campaign
Gracie was found as a kitten hiding with her two siblings under a vehicle in a friend's driveway. No one claimed them and they were seriously cute and sweet, so I talked my husband (we were only dating at the time) into taking her. Back then he lived in an apartment with his other kitty, Jewel, who warmed up to the new kitten pretty quickly.
Gracie has nicknames: "Night Fury", "Gracie LouPooPoo" and just "Poopies". She can be lovey and purry but sometimes likes to hide out and be alone. She likes to help me with anything that I might work on while sitting at the dining room table. She usually rolls around on her back and stares up at me with her sweet little golden eyes, knowing she's irresistable.
My hours are reduced due to COVID and my husband was recently out of work after having cataract surgery. We don't have insurance so we are still paying for his surgery. Gracie is part of our family, we love her and we want her to be healthy again!
Gracie was losing weight and being picky about eating. After blood work, xrays and an ultrasound we now know she likely has a large impacted hairball in her stomach. We are going to try laxatives to help it out one way or another, but the vet suspects she may need surgery. Removing this will make her happy and healthy once again, but if we cannot get the hairball out of her she will not make it.
Gracie isn't crazy about the other cats in the house, but she plays nice. She likes the dogs when they are calm and not barking or romping. She likes boxes and paper bags, and for some reason enjoys sleeping under furniture. She will often launch herself from the cat tree and land on the table without much warning. She is pushy when she wants to check out what we are eating-she is very curious.
