About this campaign
Graham was first seen limping through an area known for dumped dogs. He was alone, thin, and eating from trash. He stayed in the same spot for days, holding his injured leg off the ground. When a local reached out for help, One by One Animal Advocates didn’t hesitate. Graham needed urgent care, and time wasn’t on his side.
At the vet, the damage was worse than expected. His toe jutted out at a 90-degree angle, and the open wound showed tendon and bone. It had likely been that way for weeks. The vet performed surgery, removed the damaged toe, cleaned and repositioned the tissue, but couldn’t fully close the wound due to dead skin and granulation.
Graham spent two weeks in the hospital, getting bandage and splint changes while the infection was managed. Though his leg is severely atrophied, there’s no nerve damage. Now in recovery, he's receiving daily support, gentle exercise, and learning how to walk again. Through it all, he remains calm, sweet, and cooperative.
Graham’s vet bills are high, and his recovery will be long. One by One Animal Advocates stepped up without time to fundraise, and now, they need your help to close the gap. Please consider donating to support his continued care and rehab.
Update
Graham is steadily healing, in big part due to the dedicated efforts his foster dad is doing to help his recovery—including massaging his atrophied hip muscles and doing leg walking exercises to try to rebuild his leg muscle. Soon, our boy will go to the vet for recheck (fingers and paws crossed everything goes as planned!). He has a ways to go but we are so proud of the progress he’s already made.
A HUGE thank you to everyone continuing to follow & support Graham’s recovery journey. Every ounce of support is greatly appreciated!
