About this campaign

How this adorable puppy was left to fend for himself on the streets in Texas is hard to comprehend. And if the Pet Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) didn't rescue Grayson, he would not have made it.

The group brought him to their shelter in Connecticut, and that's when they realized he was in big trouble.

"Grayson came to PAWS with his sister, Gemma. They couldn't be more adorable. They were both infested with parasites and were very lethargic and not eating. The sister's health turned around after deworming protocol. However, Grayson continued to be lethargic and wasn't eating," Ellen E., from the nonprofit group, tells Waggle.

He was rushed to VCA Veterinary and Referral and Emergency Center in Norwalk, CT. He was diagnosed with bowel obstruction from the worms, and he needed emergency surgery. Without the operation, he would have died.

"Grayson is very special because he had 0% surviving if left as a stray," Ellen says. "Post-surgery, both the sister and Grayson are acting playfully as puppies do. I hope we all can agree that an 11-week old puppy deserves a chance at a healthy life. This is a life worth saving. Just look at his beautiful face."

Now the PAWS is trying to raise the money to pay for this unexpected and hefty expense. They hope you'll give to Grayson's campaign. It will help the group pay off his bill and allow them continue to save more pups who need medical help.
