Tiny Gremlin Is Fighting Multiple Illnesses—Help This Sweet Kitten Survive

At just 2 months old, a tiny kitten now named Gremlin has already faced more hardship than most animals experience in a lifetime.

When he was first found, Gremlin was extremely thin, weak, and struggling to use one of his legs. It was clear he had been suffering for quite some time and urgently needed medical attention. Pumpkin’s Rescue Club rushed him to the veterinarian, where the first of many serious issues was discovered: a severe abscess that required immediate drainage and treatment. The infection was serious enough that Gremlin had to remain under close medical supervision while receiving fluids, antibiotics, and pain management. Despite everything his tiny body had endured, Gremlin showed nothing but love. He purred through treatments and melted into his caregivers’ arms as if he knew he was finally safe.

Unfortunately, that was only the beginning of his medical battle.

After extensive testing and diagnostics, veterinarians discovered that Gremlin is also fighting cryptosporidium and giardia, two intestinal parasites that can cause severe gastrointestinal illness—especially dangerous for such a small, fragile kitten. Even more concerning, there is also suspicion of FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), a serious and complex disease that requires further monitoring and care.

Because of these complications, Gremlin has required multiple veterinary visits, diagnostics, medications, and ongoing supportive care, and his veterinary bills have now surpassed $2,000—and continue to grow as we work to give him the treatment he needs.

Through it all, Gremlin remains the sweetest, most loving little kitten. He is gentle, affectionate, and incredibly trusting during every vet visit and treatment. Despite his difficult start, he continues to fight with a tiny body but a huge heart.

3/21/26 Update

We’re happy to share a hopeful update about little Gremlin! After everything this tiny fighter has been through, Gremlin is doing well and showing encouraging progress. He has officially finished his treatment for both giardia and cryptosporidium, which is a huge milestone in his recovery.

Over the past weeks, Gremlin has handled medications, vet visits, and supportive care like a champion. Despite his difficult start in life, his sweet personality continues to shine, and he’s been gaining strength each day. The next step is an important one — Gremlin will be retested to make sure he is fully clear of both parasites. We’re hopeful that his results will confirm that the treatment was successful and that he’s moving closer to a clean bill of health.

While this progress is wonderful news, Gremlin’s care has included multiple diagnostics, medications, and ongoing monitoring, and we’re still working to cover the costs of his medical treatment.

We’re so happy to share another positive update about little Gremlin! After everything this tiny fighter has been through, he is still doing great and continues to make wonderful progress.

Gremlin has remained bright, playful, and full of affection. His strength and resilience have truly shined throughout his recovery, and it’s incredible to see how far he has come from the fragile kitten who first arrived in need of urgent care. He’s eating well, gaining confidence, and soaking up all the love from his caregivers.

At this point, Gremlin is doing so well that we’re simply waiting for one final cosmetic detail — his missing fur to grow back. Once his coat fills in, he will officially be ready for adoption and able to start the happy new chapter he has fought so hard for. This is a huge milestone for a kitten who once faced multiple infections, serious illness, and uncertainty. Now, he’s on the brink of finding a forever home where he can live the carefree kittenhood he deserves.

From a fragile, suffering kitten fighting multiple infections… to a playful, thriving little survivor—Gremlin’s transformation has been nothing short of incredible.

We’re so happy to share that Gremlin is in the final stretch of his recovery. He is finishing up his FIP treatment and completing his second round of deworming, marking the last steps in a long and challenging medical journey.

Today, Gremlin is bright, active, and full of life. The tiny kitten who once struggled just to get through each day is now playing, growing, and showing off his sweet, affectionate personality every chance he gets. His strength and resilience have carried him through every obstacle—and now, he’s finally almost ready for the life he deserves. If all continues as expected, Gremlin will be ready for adoption in about a week.
