About this campaign
Found as an injured stray, Griff’s journey has been anything but easy. His injuries and the overwhelming number of animals in shelters across Texas meant that his time was running out. But thanks to the incredible team at ThisIsHouston, Griff was pulled from the euthanasia list hours before his scheduled time, and he got a second chance at life.
His injury, a wound that has now aged, has left him with a leg that can no longer be saved—it must be amputated. In addition to this, Griff has tested positive for heartworm, making his journey even more challenging. But despite the odds stacked against him, Griff's spirit is undeniable and he is incredibly sweet.
The road to recovery will be long, but Griff will be able to start his new life, pain-free, with the love and care he deserves. We are asking for your support to cover the costs of Griff's life-saving treatments, including his leg amputation surgery and heartworm treatment.
Griff's shown the true meaning of resilience, and we owe it to him to give him the best shot at a full life. With your help, Griff has a chance to experience the love and happiness he's always deserved.
Update 4/2/25:
Griff had an amputation and is recovering well but has some pretty intense bruising on his body in areas not near his incision site. He’s already been to the vet this week for bloodwork and some testing. His clotting times are also less than they should be, so the vet is slightly concerned. But clinically, he’s in good spirits. His foster mom is keeping a close eye on him and says he always has to be touching her. He’s super sweet, and we’re so glad he’s still alive today!
