About this campaign

Guinness has been a huge part of our life for 7 years & we can't imagine it without him. He's a big goofy talkative pony boy who always has a toy in his mouth. He's a sweetheart of an Akita who loves everybody, not aloof as they usually are. He's got the softest coat, especially on his head between his ears. He only sheds twice a year, 6 months at a time lol. He is our Heart.

Guinness was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his right hind femur, just above the knee on 1-22-26 at Claycomo Animal Hospital. Our vet advised it had most likely already spread & sent us home with meds to keep him comfortable in hospice, telling us 2-6 weeks. We decided to get a 2nd opinion & took him to Angels Vet Express. They x-rayed his lungs, advising he'd be a good candidate for surgery.

We brought Guinness home at 8 weeks old & he fit between our wrist & elbow, sleeping between our pillows that night. He loves to go for a ride. He loves pup cups from the drive-thru or a Dogsters ice cream cup from the freezer. He's very vocal, telling us every time the trash & recycling get picked up, guarding his home. He makes our family & life complete.

We are retired, living on fixed income, & need your help covering the cost of Guinness's amputation & recovery. The surgery is Monday, 2-23-26. Both attending vet, Dr Howard Jensen & surgical vet, Dr Luke Pickett, said Guinness should have a quality life after surgery.
