About this campaign

I adopted Gunnar from a rescue about 3 years ago. He was a senior dog which can be hard to get adopted. When we met, I swear that he took one look at me and decided that I was his mom,; he tried to play it "cool" ....for a few minutes, until he showed his belly for his favorite belly rubs. Gunnar means "brave warrior". (There are no other pets in the home.)

Gunnar has 2-3 masses on his belly. The most concerning one has grown significantly in the last 4 months and will eventually interfere with his mobility. Though our vet at Eastgate Animal Hospital states that this is not emergency, it is becoming more urgent and therefore needs to be addressed sooner than I can save up the money.

Gunnar is my adventure buddy, up for anything and everything. He loves to swim. He loves to zoom and roll on the ground. His favorite toy is "rope duck", which his "aunties", my chosen sisters, make sure he is always well stocked with. (He just adores his aunties!) Gunnar and I are a registered pet therapy team, where he spreads doggie joy to many adults and kids.

I'm low income due to disability. Though I work part-time, I struggle to make ends meet, let alone build an emergency fund. I also have had multiple surgeries over the last 4 years which have resulted in a significant amount of lost income.
