About this campaign
Gunner came in to my life in 2013 when he was 5 months old after being rescued from a poor condition living situation. I do not know his background up until then but still has a lot of anxiety and takes a long time to warm up to men. He now lives with his forever mom (me) and older fur brother (Cassius) who love him dearly.
Gunner is on his schedule of up at 630am to wake mom up to be fed. He loves naps and sitting up on the couch like a human to watch out the front window. He relies on and is protective of his older boxer brother Cassius and is connected to his mom’s hip. He loves treats and likes to be under the covers or in one of his many doggie beds.
Gunner is special because he came in to my life at a time I didn’t know I would need him in an upcoming divorce. He is the funniest personality I’ve seen in a dog especially when he’s sleepy. His tongue hangs out 90% of the time he is sleeping. When he wants to cuddle he thinks he’s a 5 pound lap dog instead of 75
Gunner has had treatment mast cell tumors since he was 4 including chemo and radiation. He has had multiple surgeries to remove mast cell tumors as well as melanoma from his tongue that he has been treated for at MedVet Columbus and Avery Animal Hospital. He recently was hospitalized in July 2021 due to ITP and bleeding. He was started on high steroids where he has had terrible side effects.
I have two older dogs that both have high cost medical needs. I’m also a divorced woman working two jobs to pay my school loans, take care of my two ill dogs and keep the house they have been in for their lives so they don’t have anxiety moving anywhere else.
