Gunner is a 10-month-old Catahoula Leopard Hound (Lab, Cocker Spaniel, Terrier) in Wilson, NC, who needs $2,000 for Anaphylactic Shock.

Gunner came into my life at the perfect time. I had lost my Australian Blue Heeler, Koda, in June of 2021. I just couldn't seem to get over the grief. She was my rock. I was just browsing on FB, when I saw Gunner. His eyes just reached out to my soul. A few days later, I contacted the rescue The Maggie Society, a wonderful rescue group and set the ball in motion. Soon after, he was home with me!

He was 4 months when he got here & fit right in. He was full of that puppy energy and really brought the house back to life. He has 2 older "sisters" that he loves and they love him. From the moment he came into the house, everyone got along beautifully. The 1st night, I had his doggy bed beside my bed, but he wanted nothing to do with that. I gave him a boost up and that's where he's slept since.

He has such personality. He's got that little crooked nose and loves to play with any kind of toy. He will chase the other pups around the yard and picks a play with anyone. He is very smart and knows how to sit, stay, and shake hands. He has never met a stranger and will greet everyone with a grin and great big tail wag.

Gunner suddenly got deathly sick one night. He was throwing up and had bad diarrhea. I rushed him to the vet hospital, where they kept him over night and the next day he was transferred to emergency care. The veterinarians have been fantastic. The diagnosis seems to be anaphylactic shock. He has been in that hospital intensive care since 12/16.

I am 65 and retired. I will do anything to get my baby well. It would mean everything to me to have him fill my home with joy and happiness again. He is not out of the woods yet and the bill is growing. Estimate is between 8-10K and to me he's worth every bit. I love him.
