About this campaign
Gunther is an 8-year-old German Shepherd and certified service dog. We live together in a duplex near Eugene, Oregon. Gunther is an essential part of my daily life and well-being. He is well-socialized, regularly sees the vet, and is deeply loved by both me and our broader support network of caregivers and friends.
Gunther was rushed to emergency care on July 9th and diagnosed with GDV (bloat), a life-threatening condition. He was in shock and needed immediate surgery to survive. The procedure was performed at West Eugene Animal Hospital. He is now recovering, but the emergency bill has left us in serious financial hardship.
Gunther is my service dog and best friend. He’s goofy, gentle, and incredibly loyal. He senses medical episodes before they happen and brings calm in the hardest moments. He loves everyone he meets and brings joy to my whole support network. He’s more than a pet—he’s family, and my daily lifeline.
I live on a fixed disability income and had no way to prepare for this emergency. Gunther’s surgery saved his life, but the bill is more than I can afford. He’s my service dog, my safety, and my heart. Having him healthy and home with me means everything—he helps me survive
