Gus is a 6-year-old Heeler in Cave Creek , AZ, who needs $2,000 for IV, oral care, GI issues as well as heart arrhythmia.

We took Gus in from another chef in need. He’s been in our family for 3 years and his brother Carlos and sister Ale miss him along with his kids to take care of, Mackenzie and Miles. If you know our family you know we are dog lovers and these pups mean the world to us. Gus just needs some help getting back home!!!

Gus tried his best to sleep on the bed each night. He loves just about everything. Hiking, camping, Sunday’s at the lake. He is extremely protective of his kids and they love to cuddle up and fall asleep watching movies with our big goofy guy. He is very proud of his orange harness on walks in the desert.

After a wedding weekend this was the last thing we expected. We saved all of our money to have a modest wedding and make the day memorable especially in what was already hard times. We are hoping someone in our community can help us bring home our special guy.

We were out of town last weekend when our caretakers noticed Gus acting lethargic, vomiting and having accidents. He was rushed to Vetmed in Cave Creek and admitted for a low heart rate, dehydration and low blood sugar. They are still not currently sure what is wrong with him but a number of things have been ruled out. We hoped to have him home today but his heart rate was much too high overnight.

Gus loves to roll on his back and get all his scratches in. He lets us know when it’s time to go outside and chase bunnies through our field. He sits in the cutest way with his feet pigeon toed and usually shakes off slobber like Hooch after he has had a good run on our property. He has a big heart and we just want him home.
