Gus is a 15 year old Shih Tzu in Chuckey, TN, who needs $2,000 for Spinal Surgery.

Hello everyone. This is the story of my baby Gus. He is the only dog I have ever had that was "planned." See, I had his daddy Buster for about 9;years before he started getting sick. We knew he wasn't going to be around much longer, so my mother suggested we breed him with her female and said I could have the pick of the litter. That pick was Gus.

So I have had Gus his entire life, almost 15 years now. He has always been healthy and well cared for. But recently, he has started dragging his back legs. He can't even stand up any more. The vet says it will require an expensive Spinal surgery that, we cannot afford after losing my job. I refuse to euthanize him over something that can be corrected, but we desperately need help!!

Gus has always been an honry boy! Very protective over me. But playful with his adopted sister Abbey. Now all he can do is lay down and sit. He face shows so much sadness when he wants to do something and knows he cannot. Something as simple as getting up to get a drink or go outside with the other dogs. It just breaks my heart. I can't lose him over this. Please help if you can.

Recently we had the floods from Hurricane Helene and a lot of businesses had to close. My job was at one of those businesses. So I lost my job and have not been able to regain steady employment. I stay home with Gus as I'm so afraid to leave him alone. Trying to find wfh job
