Gus is a 1-year-old German Shepherd Mix in Hot Springs National Park, AR, who needs $1,500 for ongoing medical treatment post vehicular trauma.

At a time in my life when I was praying hard for God to put someone in my life that I could trust, love and depend on who wouldn't leave me, forsake me and who would love me just the way He made me the last soul I thought He'd bring me was a puppy! Gus picked me. Sent by God to be my best, most loyal, loving friend he literally saved my life. It's time for me to return the favor.

Gus is your all around ladies man. Named after Augustus McRae from Lonesome Dove, he is every bit the part. He's laid back, never in a hurry and loves three things; ladies, biscuits and naps. And not in that order. An ever present friend when I'm sad, happy, and always always holds my hand in his mouth from the car to the door to ensure a safe and proper escort inside.

Gus has been my strength when I didn't have my own. He's been someone to need me when it felt like the rest of the world shut me out. I'm always good enough for him just the way I am. I can't imagine me life without my God send and I'm hoping I don't have to for a long time.

We are hoping to use Dr. Bell for Gus' treatment. While I'll be taking care of the first part of his bill I'm unsure of how to cover the rest. We're just starting to get back on our feet after my two surgeries and I guess it's his turn. He was hit by a car this Sunday evening and unable to afford an ER vet visit we are up praying and hoping for the miracle we know our God can do.

Gus loves to "talk." When he was little I thought he just whined a lot. Well he's far from little now and I've come to learn it's his voice. I ask and he answers. We have some extremely insightful and hilarious conversations as you can imagine. Gus also LOVES worship music, (I told you he was sent from God!) If he's restless just turn on some worship tunes and it's peaceful naps from there on!
