Gussie is the 3rd dog I've had as a grown up. My first two lived to be ages 14 and 13, so I was at a complete loss to learn that Gussie has lymphona and is not yet 7-years-old. I am having a struggle wrapping my head around this. I got Gus, the only girl in a litter and the last to be adopted, from a farmer in Ohio. She is a golden doodle, but without paperwork, so her fees were affordable.

Gussie has Lymphoma, although I do not know what stage it is yet. We have had her complete one chemotherapy session at Blue PearlPet Hospital in Auburn Hills, MI. I know now that chemo is just a respite, adding perhaps a year of time more with your pet. That's why I feel badly about seeking help. Her "total" estimate of costs is in the range of 15k; and that's a luxury I can't afford:(.

I've loved all my dogs like they were my children! However, I've not had a dog like this girl before. She is so sweet and so eager to please that she is basically self trained! I have never had to tell her no; she just makes the right choices all by herself. She is beloved by many, and is the only dog allowed into the Eagles Club because she is so special. I just love her to bits.

I taught high school English for 25 years until a trauma made it difficult for me to continue. I still teach adult ed part time. Many things have made the last three years difficult, including some medical diagnoses for me. When it rains it pours. I can't lose her just yet.
