About this campaign
Gwen was bought by my grandpa as a companion while he cared for my grandma with Alzheimer’s. He trained her for 3 months to be the perfect support dog. When my grandma’s condition worsened, he had to move to Mexico for affordable hospice care. While we dog-sat Gwen, she developed a painful eye condition requiring urgent vet visits.
Gwen is a healthy, 2-year-old dog who’s always been up to date on her vaccinations and vet visits. Her last checkup at Sonora Veterinary Group was normal. Out of the blue, her eye turned cloudy, and she was diagnosed with severe glaucoma. She's now undergoing treatment, but surgery may be needed to relieve the pressure and pain.
Gwen is a sweet, loving dog with a timid but curious personality. She’s full of life, always exploring and staying active. She adores playing with my two young boys and gets along wonderfully with our three other dogs. Her gentle nature and joyful spirit make her a special part of our family.
We've spent $700 on eye drops, pain meds, examinations and pressure tests with an unfortunate outcome that surgery will be required to remove Gwen's eye that will cost up to $2,000. Any help toward her care is greatly appreciated.
