About this campaign
Haavi is a 150 lb Bouvier des Flandres who is the heart of our home. We named him after Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon because of its breathtaking beauty and power. He has been my constant companion through my transition into college. He is a 'gentle giant' whose name reflects the incredible strength and spirit he’s showing right now as he fights to recover.
Haavi is in a life-threatening emergency after a violent predator attack on April 26. He is currently at the University of Missouri Veterinary Health Center (Mizzou) in Columbia, MO. Specialists have confirmed a bite mark, ruling out mechanical injury. He requires daily medical sedation for intensive wound debridement and bandage changes. This is an emergency situation requiring specialized care.
Haavi is truly my brother; my mom treats him like one of her own kids, and he is a huge part of my life. He is a total cuddle bug who loves to climb into bed and snuggle close with me. When he isn't napping, he lives for running and playing in the yard. He communicates with rumbly huffs and loves the garden hose. He fought so hard to crawl back home to us because he belongs here, with his family.
As a student, this is impossible alone. We’re on the news & GoFundMe, but need help for his daily sedation. Having my 'brother' home and back in my bed to cuddle would mean everything. He fought for us; we are fighting for him.
