Hachi Was Hit, Left Bleeding, and Too Scared To Understand Why

Hachi was found lying outside Marriott Hotel, bleeding helplessly on the road after a brutal road accident. He could not understand what had happened to him. He could not understand the speed, the impact, or why his body was suddenly in so much pain. All he knew was fear, blood, and the street beneath him while he waited for someone to notice that he was still alive.

Thankfully, someone did though. On Friday, our helpline received the call about Hachi, but before we could even reach him, a kind soul had already stepped in. They did not look away. They did not leave him there to bleed. They took him to a nearby vet for basic treatment while waiting for us to arrive, and that small act of kindness may be the reason Hachi is still here today.

When we reached him, our hearts broke. Hachi was badly injured and bleeding from his forehead, ears, and arm. The amount of blood he had lost was frightening. He was weak, scared, and in pain, and without timely help, we could have lost this innocent boy right there on the streets. That is how close it was. Now Hachi is safe, but he is not okay yet. His body is hurting, and his mind is still carrying the trauma of what happened. He needs treatment, wound care, pain medication, antibiotics, monitoring, follow-up care, and time to heal from an accident that could have ended his life. The streets are the only home so many animals know, but they do not understand roads. They do not understand speed. They do not understand that one careless moment can leave them bleeding, broken, and fighting to survive.
