Haku is a 9 year old Mix-Breed in Pearl River, NY, who needs $1,800 for Urinary Catherization and Bladder Flush.

He was a Christmas gift and my first ever cat and first pet. I’ve had him since he was very young and he has been with me for about nine years. I’m currently a college student and independent adult, balancing part time work and summer classes. I also have two other cats in the home and he is especially close with one of them.
His name, Haku, comes from one of my favorite Studio Ghibli films!

About three months ago I took him to the vet because he was bloated and wheezing. I was concerned it could be asthma or bronchitis. He had x-rays and was given medication and the visit cost nearly $600, which I paid out of pocket using money I had set aside for tuition and school expenses.
Despite that treatment, his condition has continued. Right now, he is showing concerning symptoms again

He is the most loving and gentle cat I have ever met. He is very talkative and expressive, and he loves to be close to people. When I study or rest, he often sits on my lap and keeps me company. He is affectionate with everyone he meets and is known for being very sweet and calm. He enjoys cuddling, will nuzzle and lick hands or faces, and has always been very friendly and social.

I am not financially prepared for another emergency vet bill, but I am trying everything I can to get him help. It has been very stressful emotionally and financially and I have not been sleeping well worrying about him.
